Lovers of pinot noir are sometimes disappointed with Italian examples: they're either relatively inexpensive, unstructured fruit bombs or seriously pricey attempts at red Burgundy (not always successful either). Try this excellent Valpolicella instead.

It's exactly the same weight as say a good Mornington pinot, with added complexity gained from a second fermentation on the skins of the previous year's Amarone (look, it's complicated ok?). What it all means is something fabulous and different to go with your roast duck or mushroom risotto.
