2024 San Salvatore 1988 'Trentenare' fiano

While all the attention in Campania is on the admittedly beautiful coastlines of Napoli and Amalfi, further south they make some equally beautiful wines. This delicious fiano hails from Paestum, an ancient Greek colony near the southern coast of Campania. Fiano doesn't mind heat, and keeps it's lovely acidity even in hot summers - one reason why it is starting to do very well here in Australia. This wine, the top white from this estate, is full, rich and lush, but kept in check by trademark grapefruit acid and a touch of barrel work for added complexity. A bottle of this and you might never drink chardonnay again...
