Convento Annunziata ‘Santissima’ chardonnay 2018

The good people at Bellavista, while developing their stunning classic method sparkling wine, noticed a few blocks of chardonnay that were great as a still wine. They did a couple of experimental lots, and then released the wine as a standalone chardonnay. I’m really glad they did!

 The model seems to have been premier cru white Burgundy, and this won’t disappoint if that’s what you’re after. From limestone rich vineyards near Lake Garda in the far northeast of Lombardia, this elegant, beautifully oaked chardonnay is world class.
